“Getting peace of mind about health care begins largely with finding the right doctor—one who values relationships based on openness and trust and provides high quality care.” — “My Health Counts!” Host Susan Hunt
How can you prepare for and make the most out of your doctor visits? Where can you go to find out more? Learn how to build and grow a relationship with medical professionals, keeping in mind that your doctor is the expert on medical care, but you are the expert on yourself.

Tune in for the first of three television programs with an empowering theme: My Health Counts! Part of a new community awareness campaign, each program features inspiring stories about people who have made positive changes in their personal health. In addition, knowledgeable health care professionals share useful information.
This multi-year campaign also features a related Web site and events, all contributing to the overall goal: to encourage Western New Yorkers to become more skilled and confident managers of their own health care.
“We want to reach and influence people about the daily health choices they make to help them improve their health and live well,” said Pamela Johnson, Ph.D., WNED’s vice president for Education & Outreach.
My Health Counts! (Upcoming Programs):
- Self Management (Winter 2009): Plan for better health.
- Quality (Spring 2009): Get the right care at the right time.
