Part I (Feb. 2, 2006)
Part II (June 1, 2006)
Part III (May 3, 2007)

This empowering, three-part series answers important health questions and strives to encourage viewers to begin taking steps toward healthful habits and wellness. Changing one’s lifestyle and mindset can be a daunting task. Through the guidance of local health experts and stories of real people who have taken charge of their wellness, b-Healthy For Life offers tips, tools and inspiration to foster better health.

Part I: Hosted by Sheila Mahoney, the initial program focused on three keys to disease prevention: physical activity, nutrition and stress management.

Part II: This two-hour live call-in program offered common-sense guidance and referrals to resources from 36 health and wellness experts. Featured guests included “the Healthy Chef” and a group of students who started the Heart Smart fitness program at their high school.

Part III: Originally a 90-minute, live call-in program, this special was geared to the health needs of the 50-plus age group. Hosted by Sheila Mahoney, Maria Genero, and WNED’s Sylvia Bennett, the goal was to motivate viewers through real-life examples of healthful living; lively demonstrations (on fitness, cooking and more); and expert advice.

Funding provided by: BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York. Additional funding: The McGuire Group Health Care Facilities, New York Chiropractic College, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, The John R. Oishei Foundation.
