The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Paul Ferington, presents its annual free Holiday Concert in the lobby of the M&T Goldome Center at Main and Huron this Saturday, December 20th, at 1:00pm.  Maestro Ferington tells WNED’s Peter Hall about the venue. Soloists include 14 year old classical guitarist Caleb Samland (a WNED “Young Performer”) and soprano Lori Ullman. In addition to the traditional Carol Sing Along, the concert will feature music of Tchaikovsky, Reger, Bizet, Humperdinck, and Anderson.

It's a brass and organ Christmas with three opportunities to hear the Buffalo Brass Choir, Nick DelBello, Director, with guest organist Peter Gonciarz - Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 at First Presbyterian in Lockport; Saturday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 at Hamburg United Methodist and Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3:00 at St. John's Grace on Colonial Circle in Buffalo. Two different versions of “Sleigh Ride” are on the first half of this Friday morning’s (Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m.) coffee concert and Saturday night’s Classics concert as Erin Freeman conducts the Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus, soloists and Orchestra. After intermission the second half of those two concerts features the Christmas portion of Handel’s “Messiah.” Plus, there’s a “Come and Sing Messiah” at the Eastern Hills Weslyan Church on Sunday afternoon.
