BUFFALO, N.Y. – As part of special programming in September, WNED-TV will air “Britain’s Royal Weddings” and the new special, “Great Performances: Jackie Evancho: Music of the Movies.”
As the world continues to celebrate Britain’s latest royal marriage, “Britain’s Royal Weddings,” airing on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m., captures all the emotion, excitement and style of the nation’s previous royal weddings. Going behind the pomp and circumstance of weddings from 1923 onwards, it offers a fun, intriguing glimpse into a world few of us will ever encounter. It also charts how changing social attitudes and national circumstances have influenced what the public has come to expect from Britain’s royal weddings.
In “Great Performances: Jackie Evancho: Music of the Movies,” airing on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m., the 12-year-old classical crossover prodigy performs in front of an audience at the Orpheum Theatre. In her second telelvision special, she sings “Pure Imagination,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” among other hits.
