(Buffalo, NY) – Jordan Levy, chairman of the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp., will discuss “The Future of Buffalo’s Waterfront” at the Buffalo City Forum and buffet luncheon on Tuesday, May 25. (Doors open at noon; lunch begins at 12:15 pm.) The FORUM takes place in the WNED studios, 140 Lower Terrace, Buffalo.
This community speaker series, open to the public, is produced by WNED-AM 970 and Leadership Buffalo in collaboration with JacksonParker Communications and hosted by WNED Director of News and Public Affairs Jim Ranney. The hour-long FORUM, which includes a question and answer session with the speaker, will be broadcast live (on WNED-AM and wned.org/news) beginning at 1 pm. (Attendees must be seated by 12:45 pm.)
Levy leads the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. as chairman and also chairs its Budget & Finance Committee. In addition, he serves as an advisor and board member with many national and local organizations, including the University at Buffalo Foundation, Fine Arts Academy of Buffalo (Albright Knox Art Gallery), Dominik Hasek Foundation, and University at Buffalo Office of Science Technology Transfer and Outreach (STOR).
Professionally, Levy is an operating executive and venture capitalist with expertise in sales and marketing. He has led billion dollar technology companies to successful exits and has operated venture funds that have realized upper quartile returns. Levy is now Partner-New York with Softbank Capital, the U.S.-based venture capital group associated with SOFTBANK Corp. The firm focuses on private equity investments in technology-related companies. In 1999, Levy co-founded Seed Capital Partners, an early stage technology venture fund.
