BUFFALO, N.Y. – As part of special programming, WNED-TV will air “Carreras, Domingo & Pavarotti In Concert” on Sunday, June 12 at 9 p.m.
Recorded at the Terme di Caracalla in Rome on July 7, 1990, the performance stars Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and the late Luciano Pavarotti. “The three tenors” perform with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Orchestra del Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, conducted by Zubin Mehta.
Carreras, Domingo and Pavarotti thrill the international audience with an eclectic set of opera, classical and pop standards. With musical selections ranging from “Memory” to “O Sole Mio,” the production appeals to a diverse audience, bridging the gap between classical and popular tastes and captures the interests of opera buffs and pop fans alike.
