For anyone who grew up in Western New York and Southern Ontario, Crystal Beach Park was a staple of life each summer.  Located along the shores of Lake Erie in Southern Ontario, it was the perfect place to spend a summer day enjoying a ride on the Comet, relaxing on the beach or savoring a famous Hall’s Sucker.

My Health Counts!  

Three television programs with an empowering theme: My Health Counts! is part of this multi-year community awareness campaign.  Host, Susan Hunt, leads informative discussions with knowledgeable health care professionals. Inspiring stories from people who have made positive changes in their personal health are woven throughout the programs.  

My Health Counts! will give you the tools you need to become a more able, skilled and confident manager of your health. My Health Counts! Partnering with Your Doctor will show you how to get the most out of your doctor’s visits and help you know what questions to ask and where to turn for information and guidance.  My Health Counts! Self-Management will show you how everyday behaviors and choices impact your health.  You’ll learn how to set goals, problem solve and get support.  My Health County! Quality will show you how to get the right care at the right time for the right reason.

Life Journeys - Solutions for Caregivers
The Marines   Through a three-year public awareness campaign, Life Journeys — Solutions for Caregivers, the American Red Cross, Greater Buffalo Chapter, is partnering with WNED to offer resources for successful caregiving.
 
b Healthy for Life
The Marines   Discover the path to wellness with b-Healthy for Life, a 90-minute, LIVE call-in program geared to the 50-plus age group. Hosted by Sheila Mahoney, Maria Genero, and WNED’s Sylvia Bennett, the program aims to inspire, motivate and empower viewers through real-life examples of healthful living; lively demonstrations (on fitness, cooking and more); and expert advice.
 
Demystifying Dyslexia
Demystifying Dyslexia   Discover the challenges of living and learning with the most common learning disability. Dyslexia affects an estimated 10-15 percent of the population. Demystifying Dyslexia sheds light on this often misunderstood condition through personal stories, educational best practices and the latest scientific research. This WNED special is hosted by Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner, who has successfully overcome his own dyslexia.
 
b Healthy for life
  WNED-TV and ThinkBright present b-Healthy For Life, the first of two local productions dedicated to answering important health questions and getting individuals in our community started on their road to wellness.  Changing one’s lifestyle and mindset can be a daunting task.  Through the guidance of local health experts and the inspiring personal stories of people from our area who have taken charge of their wellness, b-Healthy For Life provides viewers with the tools they need to create a healthier life. 
 
Taking Charge of Your Child's Future
America's Houses of Worship   WNED and EPIC-Every Person Influences Children present TAKING CHARGE OF YOUR CHILD’S FUTURE. This 60 minute documentary guides parents on how to become meaningful advocates in their child’s education. Sonia Manzano, (“Maria” from SESAME STREET), is the host.

SAVING A LANDMARK: The Darwin Martin House  

The Darwin Martin House complex in Buffalo is one of architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s greatest prairie houses. The complex, on Jewett Parkway in downtown Buffalo, is now in the process of being restored. WNED-TV’s three-episode production Saving a Landmark: The Darwin Martin House provides an inside look at the process of restoring this architectural treasure.  Hosted by Drew Kahn, it includes interviews with John Courtin, Former Executive Director of the Martin House Restoration Corporation and restoration architect Ted Lownie of the architectural firm of Hamilton, Houston, Lownie.
