The Adirondacks
The Marines   Sprawled across six million acres in upstate New York, the Adirondack Park is by far the largest park in the lower 48 states. Yet it is the only one on the continent in which large human populations live and whose land is divided almost evenly between protected wilderness and privately owned tracts.  This patchwork pattern of land ownership has created an utterly unique place which maintains, at its very heart, a delicate and dynamic relationship between progress and preservation.  Through the varied perspectives of many passionate characters, the high-definition film THE ADIRONDACKS explores the remarkable history, seasonal landscape, and current state of the Adirondacks.

The Marines

Niagara Falls

More than a celebration of a natural wonder, NIAGARA FALLS is a study of human achievement and human folly on an epic scale.  A tale of affable lunacy and high drama, it’s also a story of danger and desire. The awesome Falls were the nation’s first great symbol, an emblem for the vast untamed continent with its beauty and its limitless resources.  What happened to that beauty, and those resources, is the storyline of this high-definition film, produced by WNED. Actress Mariette Hartley narrates.
