WBFO to Broadcast Munk Dialogues on How COVID-19 Will Reshape the World

WBFO, Buffalo Toronto Public Media’s NPR station, will broadcast The Munk Dialogues, a 10-week series of one-hour conversations about how COVID-19 will reshape the world as we know it, on Fridays at 10 pm starting Friday, April 17. The radio broadcasts will be created from live online, video-based programs, each of which will be moderated by Munk Debate co-founder Rudyard Griffiths, author of Who We Are: A Citizen’s Manifesto. Each episode will consist of a feature interview with one or two past Munk Debate presenters along with a conversation with Munk Debate members, subscribers, and followers.

The Munk Debates are Canada’s preeminent, live forum to discuss major policy issues, such as whether American foreign policies embolden terrorists, whether capitalism is broke, and whether China is a threat to the liberal international order. Previous Munk Debate participants are a who’s who of world influencers, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, former White House strategist Stephen K. Bannon, and David Frum. WNED PBS, Buffalo Toronto Public Media’s PBS station, has aired two previous Munk Debates that were taped live in Toronto.

The first broadcast, Friday, April 17 at 10 pm on WBFO, features Canadian journalist and New York Times bestselling author Malcolm Gladwell on the COVID-19 trends that will reshape our lives. Future broadcasts will feature American journalist and political scientist Fareed Zakaria and American businessman and economic advisor Muhamed El-Erian, among other notable Munk debate presenters. The original videos of the conversations will be available to watch in both the US and Canada at https://www.wned.org/television/program-highlights/munk-debates/
