WECK Radio Cosponsors
WBFO Arts & Culture News Desk
WBFO has received a new funding commitment for its Arts & Culture News Desk from WECK Radio. The desk, which began airing segments in January 2017, is co-funded by the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site.
“It is truly game-changing to be able to partner with WBFO, to let their audience know what they can expect when they turn on WECK Radio, a locally owned and operated top-rated station,” said Buddy Shula, President and CEO of WECK Radio. “These kinds of partnerships are ‘thinking out of the box’ types of relationships, and we look for a win-win situation between our two radio stations."
WBFO established its content-specific News Desks in 2016. By focusing on a specific subject, the desks provide a powerful opportunity for radio journalists to address major issues and topics within our community that are often underreported by other media sources. The content focus of each News Desk allows for a depth and frequency of coverage and allows reporters to follow important stories and topics over time. Content from each News Desk also appears on wbfo.org and the website is used to expand on stories heard on WBFO with additional background and depth.
