Join Buffalo's Queen of Cabaret KERRYKATE ABEL and her incredible accompanist CHUCK BASIL as they perform fabulous favorites from their 25 years of creating music together! This one-night-only event will feature music by Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, John Kander & Fred Ebb, Jerome Kern & Oscar Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Fats Waller and more! You’re sure to hear some of your Fabulous Favorites – Live On Stage!

This is a free event, however, you must register to attend. Parking is free in our gated lot.

Meet the Performers

Chuck Basil

CHUCK BASIL was the Grand Prize Winner of the Marvin Hamlisch Star Search Competition in 2002 and performed and recorded with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been in the music ministry of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo for more than forty years and is currently Music Director at St. John Vianney RC Church in Orchard Park, NY. He is a Fellow of the O'Neill Cabaret Symposium in Waterford, Connecticut. Basil began playing cabaret and piano bar music at the Stage Door Piano Lounge in Buffalo in 1989 and has worked with Kerrykate since 1998. This year marks their 25th anniversary as a performing duo. Basil has also been music director of several theatrical productions in the Buffalo area.

Kerrykate Abel

KERRYKATE ABEL is a veteran performer on Buffalo area stages. Like Basil, Abel is a fellow of the O’Neill Cabaret Symposium and has performed across the country in both cabaret and theatre. She holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts with a performance creation concentration from Goddard College in Vermont. In the summer of 2023, she appeared on the Saul Elkin Stage as Mistress Overdone in the Shakespeare in Delaware Park production of MEASURE FOR MEASURE, and this summer appeared as Autolycus in A WINTER'S TALE. She also recently played Eunice in the critically acclaimed BUA production of A GREAT WILDERNESS. Her relationship with BUA goes back years having been producer of the BUA Cabaret Series from 2009 to 2012. She wrote and directed HOARDING HOPE which had its world premiere at the Paul Robeson Theatre last Fall. She is the cantor at St Paul's Harris Hill. Her next cabaret, WOMAN OF A CERTAIN RAGE, will be presented in the '24-'25 season. Thank you for supporting the arts!
