WNED Classical Live On Stage! Presents: Entering Music with Stratton and Richie: "The Spirit of Christmas"
Please join us as WNED Classical Live on Stage! Presents: Entering Music with Stratton & Richie: “The Spirit of Christmas” on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 2PM.
Stratton Rawson and Richie English explore what they call “The Spirit of Christmas”, which they claim has been best expressed in the songs and carols of the season. The prestigious British Radio and streaming service Classic FM tops its list of the greatest Christmas songs of all time with “Silent Night” and “O Holy Night”. While Billboard Magazine lists the No. 1 Christmas song of all time as “White Christmas”. How and, as Richie always asks, why did these three Christmas related songs become the embodiment of the Christmas Spirit to millions of people around the world who never been in a church on Christmas. Helping Stratton and Richie puzzle this out will be members of the Unitarian Universal Church of Buffalo Choir conducted by Dr. Jessie Downs and accompanied by pianist Christopher Sierzchula. It’s a free lecture and concert, so come willing to add your voice to The Spirit of Christmas!
This event includes a post-concert Q&A and light refreshments.
This is a free event, however, you must register to attend. Parking is free in our gated lot.
